Pages a plenty

Well here is my layout update.

Last week at my friends I messed, and messed, discarding 2 sets of photos that I couldn't get to work and finally starting late in the evening on this layout.

This came together surprisingly quickly and I'm really happy with it. I used a kit from Sarahs Cards along with a  few bits from my own stash.

Now these 2 layouts below are last nights creations...remember I said above that I messed with 2 sets of pictures last week and couldn't get them to work, well while organising under my desk this week I came across the left overs from a kit I got at Cal's crop and the colours were perfect. So I went with a plan to get them finished.

Some of the papers were a bit to bold for this layout, but I didn't want to much of the blue, so I edged it with grey washi tape - I love how it ties the top and bottom together.

This one below only needs a touch finishing, the journalling is currently on the card in pencil while I decide if I want it to stay there or move... what do you think?

Oh and my new love of washi tape has grown again. I covered the little veneer arrows in it... I think they look funky.

Right off to get on with live and maybe even craft some more, I've had a day of photo sorting....

Project Life update

Well I have been continuing with Project Life, I've just not been very good at taking the photos and updating my blog...

So here is the last few weeks:

Firstly these are Week 19.

We had a bank holiday A&E weekend (Carys needs to learn how big her toes are) Wear what you like day at school with a difference (Kate wanted to wear her onesie)

Accidents happen, scrapping with a friend, and even more concerts for the girls.

Week 20

Birthday takeaways, last treats, and the orthodontists. (yes I am one of those mums that takes the awkward pictures)

Hair getting cut and shopping for summer clothes. Along with rehearsal for a dance show.

Week 21

This was a week of dance shows, helpful Megan (cooking tea), creating presents for teachers.

Friends re-runs, what I eat for lunch, games played together and the big one - Megan leaves school! Eeek.

Each week has been a little bit different in regards to how much embellishment I do (or don't), and they look so much better in real life that pictures can show.

I still love the process and I even did a spot of PL style pages with Kate the other day for her album which was really fun. For now that is all, need to put some pizzas in the oven and do my blog post on my recent layouts.

Scrapping Pages

Quick update with my latest scrapbook pages, I did try to do a quick post last week with a layout but my iPad doesn't like photos, so I gave up.

This first layout is a creation that I started at Cals crop, (by cutting 2 pieces of paper), but managed to finish of at my new weekly get together with a friend. I'm playing catch up as these photos were from a couple of years ago.

This one below is from photos quite a few years ago too...Carys is now 14 and this was her Year 6 Prom nearly 3 years ago!! As I said - I'm on a major catch up.

I think project life is the only thing I'm current on....but that will change. Album organisation, catch up on photos and memorabilia is this years ambition. I want to scrap the here and now with no pressure.

Right off to get a few more things scanned for album, and print out this weeks PL photos as I don't want to fall behind on that.

Week 18

I didn't think I was going to complete my project life album in numbered weeks, but I think I might have changed my mind. Firstly I was eager to do some more and it was hard to even wait the week, but I also realised that if I included all the pictures I'd taken in the past week - it would have been more than a double page spread - and it wasn't even a busy week!

Plus things were made a little easier by the fact that I didn't have to work out what week it was...my calendar did that for me. :D

I am planning on still adding the week number to this spread but I've not decided on how yet as I think I might want consistency on this so I need to figure out what will work best. Not many pictures this week were of people (as I said we didn't 'do' much, it was just a regular week) but I feel the little things are what make this album interesting. I've also done a bit more typing on pictures before printing them out this week and a little bit of embellishment.

The 1st half of the week is about parcels arriving (one excited Megan), FaceTime with Australia, Project life new storage trolley and packed lunches (of all things!)

The 2nd half of the week is about advice given being taken, scrapes while playing out, coffee and cake with a friend, wedding invites arriving in Australia and the girls trip to meet a band.

This side has a few pictures from the kids too hense the blank journalling card as it's waiting for Carys or Megan to fill it in, but I've still added a lot myself and find it quite scary that I'm enjoying adding the details when on a 12x12 layout it's all about the art not the story. That's why I think project life will be continuing in my world year on year.

Can you spot the new app I've just got? I read on a blog the other day about an app that puts the weather on a picture (sorry can't link as I was blog hopping and can't find it again) but the app is called InstaWeather and I can't wait to use it in other towns, cities and countries.

Hopefully my next post will contain layouts (more pics for you mum) as I'm starting weekly scrapping with a friend which will be for my 12x12's as I've found project life to be easier to do at home and it tends to be a weekend evening kinda thing.
