Crafty 'weekend'

These last 2 days has been my craft weekend (while I work most normal weekends), I've completed another 2 layouts, as well as catching up with Project Life.

Let Sleeping Boys Lie:

This page came together quickly as I started watching a Shimelle Laine video again (sorry I can't remember which one) and then let it run on while I embellished and journalled etc.
I've used a couple of project life cards in this and love that they can be used on my page as well as in my PL album.

The Little Moments:

It's amazing what can be accomplished with some papers and one sticker sheet...I needed to do this page 8.5 x 11 to fit on the reverse of a layout I did a few years back when I was scrapping all sizes and I forgot how quickly these come together.

Project Life:

I've only 2 weeks to show this time as I'm up to date. :) To be honest I'd only delayed doing these weeks as I was busy creating layouts and didn't want to stop to print photos. LOL

Quite a few more label stickers appeared on this week as I had lots of photos and memorabilia, so labels came in great for that touch of information where needed. I've also started filling little gaps where I don't have big landscape photos with pictures from around the house, and I'm loving the way it's looking with them included. (plus no guilt if I forget to take as many pictures one week) Or as was the case in the week below I took loads - but all from one event/day and it wasn't a true representation of the week so the rest will be included in layouts for the kids albums.

Girl Time..

I keep meaning to post layouts as I do them, but then I get on a roll and here I am again with 3 in one go, this time it's my girls 2007/08 layouts.

This first one is done using 2 sheets of My Minds eye papers, one as a background and the other I pretty much used every scrap, even the butterflies are cut out from it. Add a 3x4 card which I cut out the sentiment and a few die cut shapes.
I'm loving bakers twine at the minute and had to try really hard not to include it on the 2 layouts below as well.

This next layout, was harder to get right than I thought, it could have been due to the fact I was chatting to my friend to much... that or the papers are nicer to look at than use. Dear Lizzy from AC, which I got to go with the die cuts I'd bought a few weeks ago but only ended up using 2 on this layout. oops. Maybe next time....

This last one has only just been finished. I've used Stampin up papers along with a Project Life card, and another one of the Dear Lizzie diecuts. The layout is from the guidance of Glitter Girl's latest video and therefore is my quickest in a while..

There is a reason for shopping....

There is a very good reason I shop for pretty paper.....and that is I'm on a roll!!

Here are a few more layouts I've done since my last post:

This one is yet another boy layout, it was the one half done last time I posted, I'm currently watching a lot of videos; Shimelle Laine scrapbooking sketches and then going off on a tangent. I LOVE my new tiny attatcher by the way - worth the investment.

Then it's onto Megan's album...

These are quite a bit older pictures, (2005) but I found a gap that needed filling. These girly papers were picked up from a pack at hobby craft and those little felt circle flower things are also from there and have been used on a couple of layouts so far (not bad for about 99p)

Onto Megan 2007. I've now got some little enamel dots type things....matt in style and from Stampin' up so I had to put some to use before they became a purchase that I don't use. I've also used up some old thickers and my bargain paper from a little cake place near me that is selling off their small selection of craft papers.

This last one has been finished off tonight. I knew I wanted to layer the Amy Tangerine letter stickers behind the rest of the title and had the added bonus of the title working for this really well. Simple is the idea of this page, but I love how it's turned out.

I think red and yellow are my new scrapbooking 'love' colours, closely followed by turquoise and grey, so a layout with all 4 is a happy place for me.

So that is my reason for wanting to spend money on pretty paper and such....

Pages & Weeks...

Ok, so I've caught up on Project Life today and yes it's simple and yep I'm now keeping it this way, as looking back I prefer the pages where I've kept it simple. I've also photographed my latest 2 layouts (I have another on the go but 1/2 doesn't count)

You'll have to excuse the photos but as it got darker the photos got worse, but the layouts are away now and I don't want to pull them out again to try and get them better quality - after all I have the originals. lol

Pages first - can you tell I've been on a Boy spree?

This first one came together so quick it sat on my desk for quite a while until I convinced myself it was done....I love washi tape. :D

This one was done last week when crafting with a friend, I can't believe she's gone on holiday for 2 weeks, so I have to self motivate myself to get some more layouts done.

Right, that's my 2 layouts, now it's Project Life catchup:

Week 26 was a busy week, with both a Prom and a Birthday so an insert was included to showcase more photos.

Week 27: Blog prizes, Duke of Ed, Brass Concerts, Cake and Volunteering.

Week 28: New Camera, meals out, Ice cream, painting for teacher and much more..

Week 29: Pool time fun (love the picframe app), water balloons, school fayres, getting followed on twitter.

Week 30: My nephews first tooth, the royal baby (well it's got to have a mention), play doh elephant, meal out and ice skating.

If you got to the end of this picture long post then well done. I'll try to keep more up to date and therefore not as picture heavy.

Weeks & Weeks...

Weeks and weeks of Project Life now. I've still got a few to catch up and hopefully the photos will be here tomorrow for them, then the plan is to keep up, but we'll see how that goes.

Week 22:

Card games, kids dumping stuff after school, meeting a band, work in the garden and pictures from Oz.

Week 23:

Painting faces with eye shadow, prom dress shopping, day trip out, birthday meals, alton towers, new bike, carnival day...whew, what a busy week this was. I was writing tiny to fit it all on.

Week 24:

Games in the garden, doing things to help others, meals out, bruised knee and many other things..

Week 25:

Crafting, Fathers day (insert included), views while out, resting in the sun etc.

More weeks to follow soon (I hope)

Pages & Pages

Here are some of my latest layouts. I do have a couple more to photograph and A LOT of project life to update you with, but one step at a time.

A few more recent pictures this time, well sort of. These are a couple of years old but seen as I'm up to 2007 on the kids albums it's recent.
Megan and her Nan had a pancake cook-off, and even though some didn't turn out great they all got eaten.

This layout I'm not so sure about, but it's done now so I must move on. Kate this year at her dance rehearsal.

I prefer this one of an impromptu shot I got while Kate was changing into her tap shoes at practice. A lot of mess was caused making this one, as it involved DIY thickers and glitter, but I love the effect.

It's Arrived!!!

Well it arrived a couple of weeks ago, but I'm a lazy blogger.

My prize from Scrapbookers Inner Circle mega giveaway.....the cinnamon edition of Project Life in all it's glory. I won the first prize to be announced on Becky Higgins blog and have been patiently waiting for it's release. It was an edition that's caught my eye since I first saw them.

Firstly I got a message from my boss at work: Is this yours? To which of course I said yes...I'll be there in a bit. - Trust it to arrive on my day off and at the end of it too.

Once I got the beauty home, I took a few this is what it looks like pictures....before opening. Then my first view.

After that it became, ooo's and ahhh's. Isn't it just lovely? The album is actually a brown which doesn't show well on the online pictures, and the details are gorgeous. Carys and I went through every single card and piece of paper commenting all the way through.

My plan for all this loveliness is to use it to document our trip to Australia later this year. I figure I can easily fill a double spread a day, which with memorabilia etc should make a nice fat album. I can't wait.

More blog posts coming up soon, as I have layouts to share and Project Life catch up, along with my last Australia trip.

Been a crafting

I've been crafting loads recently...which is good as I have stash that needs using. :D

Here are my latest layouts:

This one is my current favourite I think. A cake store near me has 1/2 price of all craft items, so I nipped in and picked up a few papers....45p each! These are from a baby range, but the opposite side of them all is universal. The metal butterflies were £1 from the range, the scalloped paper was a gift from my SIL Helen (thanks hun) and the title was older letter stickers/rhinestone word. So all in all a bargain page.

The one above and below are made from 6x6 paper pads, I've used the same basic layout behind as they're both destined for different albums, but the variety comes from the colours and the embellishment. I think I'm not going to shy away from bargain 6x6 pads anymore as I'm finding more ways to use them.

All the layouts above are destined for the 2007 albums....just a few more to go.

In other things I spent the whole day crafting yesterday working on my Australia album, and I've nearly completed my 2012 trip but I'll blog about that when it's finished in one long upload. I'm also now 4 weeks behind with project life, but thats OK. I'm currently uploading to Photobox (not worth using my Selphy for so many) and I've got notes written down so once those arrive I'll catch up quickly.

Right off to get those kids ready for school tomorrow.
